Practical Engineering for Demanding Mining Environments
Northern Australia Tactical Engineering provides mechanical and structural engineering support and compliance testing for mining operations, contractors, and equipment providers across Northern Australia, Queensland, and New South Wales, including the Bowen Basin and the North West Minerals Province.
We understand that mining solutions must be safe, practical, maintainable and suited to demanding operating conditions. Our engineers work with customers to solve equipment challenges, improve performance, manage risk and support compliance.

Our team has worked with a range of mining companies including Anglo American, Glencore and Ravenswood Gold.
PROJECT: CUSTOM CASTING MOULD
PROBLEM PRESENTED
The original casting moulds exhibited deformation and unevenness, with several areas deviating from the intended CAD geometry and level plane.
PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION
3D scanning and heat-map analysis identified variations in the mould geometry and levelness, including localised deviations of approximately 6 mm.
RECOMMENDATION
Re-level and rectify the affected moulds before further use. Before future scanning, thoroughly clean all mould surfaces to improve measurement accuracy and establish a reliable baseline for ongoing inspections.
